Since November 22, all partners in the Hubject store network have a new IT system at their disposal. The platform, which was developed with the IT service provider Qualysoft, now connects more than 300 automotive companies, energy providers and IT companies in 26 countries, thus laying the foundation for the world's largest cross-provider charging network for electric cars: the intercharge network. With the new development of its platform, Hubject is preparing for the market ramp-up and the increasing digital networking of electromobility.
Beeing able to charge always and anywhere as an electric car driver: this is the mission of Hubject. It becomes reality now through the company's open eRoaming platform. The success of electric powertrains brings significantly higher utilization to the IT system of the joint venture, which has recently announced its expansion into China and the US.
"We've redeveloped our platform totally to meet the millions of electric cars on the roads of the world in the near future. Thanks to microservice architecture, our new platform can scale much more flexibly. This allows us to map a higher charge without power loss. The integration of new services into the platform will also be much easier. So we are able to meet not only the requirements of today's, but also future business models, "says Hubject CEO Thomas Daiber, explaining the basic innovations of the platform.
The innovative platform was implemented in cooperation with the IT company Qualysoft. The 25-member international project team started the development of the highly complex system in May 2017.

The first additional value-added services are already available with the rollout of the new platform. In terms of the increasing share of volatile renewable energy sources, electric vehicles can help to stabilize electricity grids. Intelligent energy management systems stabilize imbalances in the power grid through a combination of intermediate storage and energy recovery. This need for flexibility will also be reflected in the prices of electric vehicle charging. For this reason, the platform will support dynamic price management for charging station operators in the future. This enables the function to dynamically price the charging current provided depending on the time of day and the availability of your energy sources. Thus, new incentives for the use of renewable energy can be created for the customer.
A further barrier to the use of charging stations will soon be solved with Hubject's new platform: the different quality of geodata provided by charging station operators. The Hubject system now allows the evaluation of charging stations of different operators by the electric car driver. This allows them to plan their routes more reliably by detecting and avoiding charging points with incorrect information.
All functions are supported by a newly designed, user-friendly interface, which will enable even users without specialist knowledge to use it intuitively on stationary and mobile devices.
