Around 1000 young people participated in this event, which was organized by the Austrian Chamber of Commerce with the Austrian Ministry for European and International Affairs, the European Commission in Austria, numerous business partners, the Austrian National Bank and the 27 embassies of EU countries in Austria.
"Young people think positive about Europe - in Austria, and also in the UK, this has been shown by the referendum. You, the youth of Europe, give us courage, hope and confidence in this crisis. Austria feels like your homeland, Europe like your future, "said Christoph Leitl, President of the Economic Chamber Austria (WKÖ) and Honorary President of the European Economic Chambers EUROCHAMBRES, at the Europe Day of Youth in the house of the Austrian Economy.
The youth expects, that Europe contributes to a life according to their ideas bar - with the opportunities for a good education, a job and social security. Leitl recalled that Europeans make only 7 percent of the world's population, but accounts for approximately a fifth of global supply and consumes half of all benefits.
Peter Oros, CEO of Qualysoft group discussed about "The international role of Europe" with Michael Angerer, Regional Manager Foreign Trade Eastern Europe / Central Asia, Gunter Schall, ADA Austrian Development Agency and Bettina Blacher, e-Matrix Innovations GmbH. After the panel, the speakers answered questions from the audience. Here especially one thing was clearly visible - the youth of today wants to move freely in Europe and the world to be use the international labor market and increase their chances.
